Business Plans Handbook

Question: Can company legally fire w/out properly going through “discpline actions” as required? I plan to sue.
I just started a job 2 months ago. Originally I was hired for weekend receptionist. During my week training, a co-worker (helped me get the job) told me of vacant position within business office. I met with Business Manager and was told of job description. In addition to working Mon-Fri., I was still required to work 2 weekends/month (original schedule). My pay was suppose to increase, that never happened. One day my boss tells me she is thinking of letting me go b/c she thinks I’m not getting the job. The week after that, she gets fired but came back 3 weeks later b/c she is building a case against the company. On her 1st day back, my boss fires me. She says she hears conflicting reports of my performance. When I ask for specifics, she couldn’t give one. Handbook requires verbal/written warning, suspension, written warning, termination. As you can see, none of that happened? I want to sue for unlawful termination & unfair wages plus emotional distress. I am a single parent of infant.
Answer: You are not protected after working there only a few weeks. If you were not getting the job you can certainly be fired. You are not fully vested until you are there 6 months.
You can try to sue, but it will not go anywhere. There is no emotional distress over a job you just started, it is not like you had spent years dedicating yourself to this company. As long as the wages are legal and you agreed to them they are fair.
I hope you ahve some money, no lawyer will take this case without a good retainer.

Answer: That date sounded good but it sounded real exhausting. I just like it simple. Especially if it is a 1st date. I really just want to get to know that person. Dinner and a movie is fine. But talking is the best when getting to know someone. but like I said it would depend on which date it was.

Question: Considering Starting an at home business?
I’m considering starting an at home business, most likely gift baskets and yes I know there’s lots of competition and all that. But even before that I’m wondering if it’s even worth it.
I’ve found several websites with wholesale pricing, varying from cheap inexpensive items to brand name and gourment items. most request your federal tax id# before they will show you their wholesale pricing list though.
So far I’m looking at federal tax info, state tax info, state info for starting an at home business, looking into website domains and hosting, account software, gift basket ideas and possible clients, etc and that’s all before I can even buy anything. I was thinking of possibly making say a dozen various baskets to sell online thru possible an ebay store or send out letters to a couple dozen potential clients to see if their is any interest. I just don’t want to go thru all the federal and state tax issues and forms if it won’t work out
any suggestions or ideas?
Answer: Hi Alexie.
You certainly are approaching it the right. As you can imagine, some websites are expensive to set up and maintain. How are you with setting up your site?
I’m in a program that gives you a 10page site for $10.00/mth. So far I have no issues of hosting, and both my site attract quite a few hits. They only been up for about a month and I’m very impressed with out come.
The other thing this has available, is that you have join you and have a small earnings in return. Ultimately, the site effectively cost nothing to have , and could even earn something for you. But, you don’t have go down this road if you wish to promote your products on the website.
If you are interested in a genuine program, very little investment to set up, and good returns with a like work, this could be the answer for you.
You have 7day free period to view the site, and then only $10.00/mth to stay with it. Check out my site and click on the banner. You could be pleasantly surprised at what it offers.
