Question: what happens to us after morgage fraud is discovered?

My wife and I bought a new double wide, we lost everything getting this house and often told our salesman we cannot afford it, he said we would be fine and it was too late we signed an agreement. Now our home is in foreclosurer and we were prepared to move out once the bank sold it, this past Saturday we recieved a lettyer from the United States district court in Vermont, stated that the guy who intailly did our funding was convicted of fraud, come to find out 3 people who work on or funding for this house were also convicted of fraud, they were the “middle men” between us and the bank. I know he stole over $8400.00 from us according to the FBI, we will get that back, but had they not lied we would not be in this mess, I guess the bank is stuck too, what will happen to our house? Does the bank sue him, work out a new morgage with us? or are the bank and us out of luck?

Answer: You’ll likely lose your house because fraud is fraud and you are the victims. The only thing I can see you’d still be responsible for is knowing how much you can afford, you can’t let someone else tell you “it’s ok” because they won’t be around when the bills come. That for you and your wife to decide.

Once this goes to court you’ll likely get a settlement and not left totally empty handed. Expect a loss and hopefully a lesson learned. Next time get title insurance so you can’t get duped by fraudsters again.

Question: NYU…Is it right for me?

I am a sophomore in Hawaii and I am planning to graduate next year. I really want to go to NYU, brooklyn college or SDSU. I know that SDSU is a far ways away and don’t worry I have not been sheltered on a rock my whole life i am from california and both parents are from big cities. (LA,NY) I am just wondering what it takes to get into a school like NYU and if I am even qualified to do so? I hold a average 3.4 GPA and it seems to fluctuate my only heart breaker is that I want to do advertising or business but I have never been a great math person so I just don’t think I could cut it at Stern…?

Answer: It you graduate at or near the top of your class you can consider it. If not, you risk quitting or flunking out and there goes your money.

Question: How could I promote my organization: Youth for Change to help Christian youth of Pakistan?

The Christians in Pakistan are about 2% of its population. The Christian youth needs help to learn job skills and educate themselves — they need lot of information on the kind of education they should go for in order to excel in it. They need business education so that they could initiate their own businesses and find success in it. They need to learn internet and English to enhance their knowledge. There is a need to help male students to find better education and better job so that they could marry with the well literate Christian females, at present there is an unbalance among the sexes at that level which has created social problems . At present there is a need to motivate young people to take up their responsibilities and work hard at it. We would like to work for female youth empowerment and development as well. If the youth is not helped in their soical problems they will become further poor and also will be very depressed and will lose interest in the Church work & society.

Answer: Take the help of Gen Musharraf but don’t agree if he offers to open Madrassas for Christians in Pakistan or he’ll turn them into Jehadis!

Question: Should I study business/psychology in canada or in the US?

I am planning on majoring in business/international business and minoring in psychology. I am a Canadian citizen. Would it be better to stay in the US (I live in Houston, Texas) or to go to Canada, considering college-costs and quality of education? In Canada, I am considering the top universities, in the US, similarly, although excluding mainly the top 10.

Answer: You should consider the Canadian universities, because it will be A LOT cheaper for you as a student. The quality of education is about the same, seeing as you're getting your undergrad, it really doesn't matter where you get your degree from. The first two years of your undergrad degree lectures will be in a large (250+) lecture halls, so that really doesn't make a difference with your educational experience. Hope this helps!
